How the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) works
Programs like the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) give Canadian provinces and territories the opportunity to nominate individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada and settle in their respective provinces. Initially, you must apply to the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in the province or territory where you wish to reside. To qualify for the program, you must possess the skills, education, and work experience that you will need to settle down in Canada and support yourself and your family.
When planning to immigrate to Canada through the Provincial Nominee Program, prospective immigrants should research a province's nominee criteria, career prospects, and socioeconomic conditions beforehand. There are unique provincial nominee programs in every Canadian province and territory (with the exception of Nunavut and Quebec).
There are two ways to apply for PNP: either through express entry or non-express entry based on qualification criteria's. Upon receiving the province or territory's approval, your next step would be to apply for permanent residency within the specified time frame.
Identifying the PNP option that is right for the candidate can be difficult with more than 80 streams available. Prospective immigrants are encouraged to use the PNP calculators, tools, and other resources on our website to select the PNP program that best fits their profile.
