As opposed to most immigration programs that are driven by workers seeking employment, the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program invites employers to apply for a designation allowing them to hire foreign workers.
As a condition of participation, employers must commit to supporting newly arrived immigrants and their families during their acclimatization process.
International students and skilled foreign workers can apply for permanent residence in Atlantic Canada through AIPP. The AIPP Canada allows the applicants to live and work in one of Canada’s four Atlantic Provinces: Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
In the AIPP program, employers that are designated by the Atlantic Provinces do not need an LMIA to hire foreign workers
The Atlantic employers hire qualified candidates for jobs that they have not been able to fill locally. The AIPP has three programs for employees High Skilled, Intermediate Skilled, and International Graduate categories.
