The Canadian Experience Class is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents. CEC (Canadian Experience Class) has grown into one of the largest immigration pathways for skilled workers in the country. It is also called by the government as a huge success in the country, considering that it offers a lot of opportunities for skilled immigrants.
CEC Requirement
Candidates must meet the following minimum obligations. They should:
- meet the required language levels needed for your job for each language ability
- Canadian Language Benchmark 7 for NOC 0 or A jobs or
- Canadian Language Benchmark 5 for NOC B jobs
- have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada, in the last 3 years before you apply
- have gained your work experience by working in Canada while under temporary resident status with authorization to work
- Plan to live and work outside of the area of Quebec (people with work experience in Quebec and who intend to dwell in Quebec may apply to the Quebec Experience Class).
Important Note: Self-business and work experience achieved while you were a full-time student (for instance, on a co-op work term) does not count in this program.
A Popular Option for International Students
For some international graduates, the Canadian Experience Class offers the fastest and most straightforward path to permanent residence.
Graduates from a Canadian educational institution can remain in the country on postgraduate work grants after completing their degree programs or courses. An individual may get qualified to enter the Express Entry pool under the Canadian Experience Class if he or she works for at least one year in a skilled, expert, or specialized field.
Important note: Your language tests are valid for two years after you receive your results. In addition, a valid test should be available when you apply for permanent residency.
